Richard Bebout currently serves as senior director of behavioral health at Unity Health Care, a Federally Qualified Health Center that serves more than 75,000 individuals each year at more than 20 sites throughout the District of Columbia including the DC Department of Corrections. Richard has served in various non-profit leadership roles and worked for the DC Department of Behavioral Health, where he served as senior deputy as well as the agency’s first Chief of Crisis Services. Richard has published more than 20 articles and book chapters on innovative approaches to serving individuals living with mental illness and homelessness, and helping men recover from trauma. He earned his doctorate in clinical psychology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and lives in Washington DC with his wife, their son, and their bear—a 5-year-old Newfoundland.
