HelpAge USA is pleased to announce it has received a COVID-19 grant from TraceLink, the leading digital platform company for the life sciences industry. These funds will support HelpAge USA’s COVID-19 relief efforts to the Thar desert region in India.
TraceLink created a COVID-19 fund in April 2020, dedicating a total of $1 Million in charitable grants to help aid organizations around the world focused on providing COVID-19 relief, with a critical need for funding in the areas of food crises, virus treatment, equipment, and technology relief, elder care and family assistance, and mental health.
HelpAge USA advances the well-being and inclusion of older people around the world. We work with our global network partners in 85 countries to implement programs and policies that improve lives in the world’s poorest communities. The TraceLink grant will be used in India to distribute critical health information regarding COVID-19 as well as urgently needed food and hygiene packs to 4,000 older people.
“HelpAge USA raises awareness about the needs of older people in the world’s poorest environments. The Thar desert rural communities in India continue to face unique challenges in the fight against COVID-19, as health and social needs outweigh access to quality care,” said Cindy Cox-Roman, CEO, HelpAge USA. “The generous donation from TraceLink will support our expanded quality care initiatives that will reach thousands of at-risk older people and provide them with long-term sustainable benefits.”
“The number of organizations around the globe who have been severely impacted by COVID-19 is staggering, as evidenced by the incredible response we received to our call for grants,” said Shabbir Dahod, president and CEO, TraceLink. “Each submission shed light on the tireless dedication from individuals, teams, and organizations working the front lines, around the clock, to help those in need. We are honored to be able to assist these organizations as they continue to provide relief to communities, near and far.”
The call for COVID-19 grant submissions from TraceLink is now closed. TraceLink’s ongoing corporate grant program awards up to three grants per calendar year, with a primary focus on healthcare-related causes and a secondary focus on environmental or community issues.
