Meet our team.

Jonathan E. Cohen

Jonathan is a Clinical Professor of Population and Public Health Sciences at the University of Southern California and Director of Policy Engagement for the USC Institute on Inequalities in Global Health. An emerging leader in the aging field, he was a Health and Aging Policy Fellow in 2022-2023 and a Visiting Scholar at the Hastings Center in 2018, studying healthy longevity in sexual and gender minorities.

Previously, he served in leadership positions at the Open Society Foundations, where he led the organization’s $39 million Public Health Program. He began his career as a researcher at Human Rights Watch, conducting investigations into human rights abuses fueling HIV epidemics in sub-Saharan Africa, Asia, and North America.

Jonathan has a law degree from the University of Toronto, a Masters in Philosophy from the University of Cambridge, and Bachelor of Arts degree from Yale College.
