Pakistan Floods
Northern Pakistan has been hit by devastating floods that have killed hundreds and displaced thousands. Homes, livelihoods, and health care services have been destroyed, leaving communities struggling to survive.
For older people, the situation is particularly dangerous.
Many older Pakistanis are stranded, unable to walk to safety or reach food and medicine. Others live with chronic illnesses requiring regular treatment that has vanished in an instant. And older people are more susceptible to the waterborne diseases common after floods.
Through our local HelpAge global network partner, the Foundation for Aging and Inclusive Development (FAID), HelpAge is responding quickly to provide urgent assistance.
